					<title><![CDATA[Dr. Patterson Wins Hart Vision Award!]]></title>

						<description><![CDATA[Yesterday our own Dr. Patterson was honored at the California Charter School Conference and received the prestigious Hart Vision Award.  The Hart Vision Awards were established in 1995 in honor of Gary K. Hart, retired California State Senator and former California Secretary of Education. The goal of the Hart Vision Awards is to recognize and honor annually individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in education.  Dr. Patterson’s acceptance speech included 15 Rocklin Academy students who helped recite one of his favorite quotes.  The press release and video showcasing Dr. Patterson can be found  on the attached link.  Many Rocklin Academy and Western Sierra students are featured.  We are proud of the work Dr. Patterson has done and so pleased that he has been acknowledged for his achievements.]]></description>

						<description><![CDATA[According to the results released by the California Department of Education, Rocklin Academy Turnstone Way and Rocklin Academy Meyers Street campuses earned Academic Performance Index (API) scores of 963 and 956 -- the highest API's of all schools in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, and Yolo Counties.  Western Sierra also scored very well, with an API of 893, making it one of the highest scoring middle/high schools in Placer County and surrounding counties.  Congratulations to all! 						<description><![CDATA[Western Sierra Collegiate Academy and Rocklin Academy schools are again being recognized for outstanding STAR test results. As reported in the Sacramento Bee, all three Rocklin Academy schools were recognized for having 100% of students score at or above the proficient level in specific subject/grades. Rocklin Academy’s Destination Imagination team, “Naughty Magical Ostriches” took first place in the elementary division.
