From the Principal
We are about to embark on a truly magnificent opportunity to bring a solid, loving, and engaging educational environment to our community. I am pleased to introduce myself as the principal of American River Collegiate Academy. I have been in education for over 20 years. My passion for helping students grow academically and socially will continue to be a priority as our new school begins this August. Seeing first hand the impact Core Knowledge education has on all students drives my belief that all children should be afforded the opportunity to attend a Rocklin Academy school. Together, we have the opportunity to create a wonderful school community for your child!
To achieve student success, we have dedicated, passionate, and highly qualified teachers and staff who strive to empower students to excel in education. We focus on rigorous and supportive academic instruction while insuring the social, emotional, and development needs of students are met. Our parents are valued members of our school community, and we look forward to working together to cultivate a student body of lifelong learners. This is your chance to be a part of it from the start of it!
What is a public charter school?
Authorized under the charter school act of 1992, public charter schools are free, public schools open to all. Many parents are seeking high quality educational choices for their children. Parents want more individualized attention for students. They want greater participation in their children's education, and they have high expectations of personal behavior. Charter schools offer an important innovation in public education. They are performance-based schools that are free from many of the complex regulations that often constrain innovation in traditional programs. In exchange for substantial freedom in governance, programming, staffing and budgeting, the school is held accountable for student achievement. Find out more at www.ccsa.org.
The Rocklin Academy Family of Schools (RAFOS) are public schools open to all students, including those from surrounding areas. There are no special eligibility or entrance requirements and no attendance boundaries. Rocklin Academy complies with Title IX and does not, on the basis of gender, exclude any person from participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination under, any education or employment program or activity it operates.
