Gateway Students Applying to Western Sierra Grades 7 and 8 (2020-21)

 
Students attending Gateway are expected to continue at Gateway through Grade 8 and transition to Western Sierra at Grade 9.
 
In order for a Gateway student to be considered for enrollment at Western Sierra, a new application must be submitted between January 17, 2020 and February 29, 2020 and the Gateway student will be included in the public lottery.  Placement of a Gateway student at Western Sierra is not guaranteed, as admission offers are made on a space-available basis.
 
Starting at 7:00 am on January 17, 2020 until February 29, 2020, click: Login
Select Add/Edit New Student Application to complete/submit your Western Sierra application.
  • If current Gateway student applies to Western Sierra Grade 7 or 8 and has sibling(s) currently attending Western Sierra (2019-20), applicant will receive a sibling preference in the public lottery.  Sibling preference will be verified prior to lottery.

  • If current Gateway student applies to Western Sierra for Grades 7 or 8 and does NOT have sibling(s) currently attending Western Sierra (2019-20), applicant will be treated as a "new" applicant with no preference in the public lottery.

  • If current Gateway student applies to Western Sierra for Grades 7 or 8 and has a sibling attending Gateway Grade 8 (2019-20) who has indicated during the intent period he/she will attend Western Sierra Grade 9 (2020-21), applicant will receive sibling preference on the Western Sierra waiting list after the continuing student has met all enrollment requirements.  Instructions with required documents will be sent to continuing families on March 20th.  

Ensure your student's enrollment at Gateway - Indicate student's intent to return to Gateway until such time an admission offer is extended by Western Sierra.  Any vacancy at Gateway will be filled from the school's waiting list once the Gateway student accepts an admission offer from Western Sierra.  Enrollment at Western Sierra is on a space-available basis.
 
STUDENTS LEAVING OUR SCHOOLS
Parents of students going to other schools must complete a Student Withdrawal Notification (SWN) and provide completed withdrawal notification to school as soon as possible (before student's last day in attendance).
