About American River Collegiate Academy
In the fall of 2020, ARCA will welcome its first students into kindergarten through second grade classes. Each subsequent year the school will be adding additional grades until it ultimately is offering classes from K-12th grade.
Rocklin Academy was the first public school in the greater Sacramento area to offer the nationally recognized Core Knowledge curriculum which will be taught at ARCA. A Core Knowledge education is built upon a detailed outline of specific content to be taught in language arts, history, geography, mathematics, science and the fine arts. As the core of a school’s curriculum, it provides a solid, coherent foundation for learning; it is also flexible to meet local needs.
Core Knowledge exceeds the expectations of the California State Standards, setting students up to be successful in high school and beyond. The Core Knowledge curriculum is the result of research into the content and structure of the highest performing elementary school systems around the world. Specific content includes language arts, world history and geography, visual art, music, mathematics and science. More information about Core Knowledge is available at the Core Knowledge website www.coreknowledge.org.
Rocklin Academy has been recognized both locally and nationally.

What is a public charter school?
Authorized under the charter school act of 1992, public charter schools are free, public schools open to all. Many parents are seeking high quality educational choices for their children. Parents want more individualized attention for students. They want greater participation in their children's education, and they have high expectations of personal behavior. Charter schools offer an important innovation in public education. They are performance-based schools that are free from many of the complex regulations that often constrain innovation in traditional programs. In exchange for substantial freedom in governance, programming, staffing and budgeting, the school is held accountable for student achievement. Find out more at www.ccsa.org.
The Rocklin Academy Family of Schools (RAFOS) are public schools open to all students, including those from surrounding areas. There are no special eligibility or entrance requirements and no attendance boundaries. Rocklin Academy complies with Title IX and does not, on the basis of gender, exclude any person from participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination under, any education or employment program or activity it operates.
