Academic Talent Search (ATS) - Sponsored by Sacramento State, providing academically challenging, fast-paced courses to highly able and motivated 4th through 9th grade students in the greater Sacramento area.
 
CA Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) - CHKS is a research-based core module that provides valid indicators to promote student engagement and achievement, safety, positive development, health, and overall well being. In addition, there are supplementary modules to choose from at the secondary school level that ask detailed questions on specific topics. 
 
CA Assessment of Student Progress (CAASPP) - a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress and ensure that all students leave high school ready for college and career. Students in grades 3-8 and 11 take the ELA/Math assessment. Students in grades 5, 8 and 10 take the Science assessment.
 
Early Assessment Program (EAP) - A program that assesses students for college-readiness in grade 11 of high school.
 
English Learners (EL) - English learners are students whose primary or home language is other than English and who are eligible for services based on the results of an English language proficiency assessment.
 
General Education Development (GED) - for those without a High School Diploma. Study and take a battery of tests to certify your aptitude, knowledge and skills. It is designed for those that never finished high school.
 
Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) - A high school equivalency test.
 
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - for students in California schools the PFT is the FITNESSGRAM.The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity.Students in grades five, seven, and nine take the fitness test.
 
Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) - a broad term for special practices, procedures, and theories used in the education of children who have been identified as gifted or talented.
 
CA High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) - If eligible to take the test, you can earn the legal equivalent of a high school diploma by passing the CHSPE.
 
CA High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) - an exam created by the California Department of Education,  previously mandated to administer in High Schools statewide in order to graduate.
